Cosmetic Laser Therapy

Cosmetic Laser Therapy

Medical lasers provide safe and effective non-surgical treatment of spider veins on the legs and face. The Excel V+ laser delivers pulses of light energy to the unwanted vein, which causes the blood within the treated vein to coagulate. Once the treated veins are closed, the body will absorb them over time.

How does laser therapy differ from sclerotherapy for veins?

Both treatments close unwanted veins, but they do it in different ways. Sclerotherapy involves injecting medication directly into the vein, while Laser Therapy uses light energy to close the vein. The best treatment depends on the type, size, location, and color of the veins being treated. Laser therapy is considered the treatment of choice for facial spider veins. Your consultation will determine if sclerotherapy or laser therapy will be most effective.
