WHAT LED YOU TO THE FIELD OF INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY?

The field of radiology and interventional radiology fascinated me during my internal medicine training because it allowed me to help patients in ways I was not previously able to. Radiology & imaging has a central and vital role in managing every single patient. Being in this role has helped me realize my potential to offer so much more to my patients and the community.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?

In this era, radiologists have become clinicians who are directly accessible to patients and their families to discuss imaging and treatment options. Additionally, we are a part of a rapidly evolving and advancing field of medicine and use some of the most amazing designs of biomedical engineering to save and transform lives.

I love that I'm able to share this with my patients. To be able to cure certain cancers without chemotherapy or surgery, to see a patient walk out after a minimally invasive surgery, which would otherwise have required a prolonged hospital stay, are some of the most gratifying parts of my job.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST WHEN YOU ARE NOT WORKING?

When not working, I enjoy spending all of my time with my beautiful family, be it sitting at home & watching TV, cooking, or being outside biking, trekking, etc. I engage in DIY home improvement projects to busy and learn new creative ways to personalize our home. I also share a passion for traveling the world with my wife and always look forward to weekend getaways with our kids.
